Hi, my name is Isabel van de Stadt and I’m a graphic designer experimenting within a wide range of mediums and materials—including ceramics, photography, moving image and bookmaking. I like to work with a hands-on approach and an open mind. My work reflects my curiosity for themes like craftsmanship, physics, perception, and form. Currently I’m in my fourth year of the bachelor Graphic Design at ArtEZ Arnhem.

The Ceiling is on the Floor

Inspired by magical realism and fascinated by weightlessness, I made images that defy gravity. Using various practical effects—like rotating photos and hanging objects with transparent thread—I crafted a world where gravity behaves strangely and it is sometimes unclear what is the ceiling and what is the floor.
